This winter and spring we will have a cohort for young adults and anyone at NSF interested in taking a deep dive into spiritual disciplines. We will specifically be looking at the way our society deforms us through different practices, and then explore how the Christian tradition gives us practices that transform us. In short, this cohort is exploring how we can put Romans 12:1-2 into practice: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” This cohort will be for Christians who are discerning how their faith relates to their daily lives, and also will be aimed for people exploring the faith, whether new believers, seekers or skeptics.
We will meet every other Thursday in 105 Frazier from 6 - 8pm. Feel free to come in and out as needed, there’s no need to commit to every session of the cohort.
We will have dinner from 6-6:45, a talk on a spiritual discipline from 6:45-7:15 and a discussion from 7:15-8. You will need to rsvp ahead of time so we know how much food to order (you only need to rsvp once, not for each cohort meeting).
